On 27 September, Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne will mark global Confucius Institute Day, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of Confucius Institutes.

Confucius Institutes are not-for-profit organisations established to promote Chinese language and culture around the world. Each Institute is a partnership between a local University and a partner institute in China. There are over 450 institutes in more than 90 countries.

The three Melbourne-based Confucius Institutes (University of Melbourne, Latrobe University and RMIT University) are joining together in the hosting of this important cultural event. The event will include a series of sessions showcasing Chinese culture aimed at enhancing attendees' understanding of China. Activities will reflect the regional diversity of China, and changes to Chinese culture over time.
