The Australia China Victoria Wide - Opening Doors to Export forum, is to be held at the Melbourne Town Hall on 14th May 2009.
The aim is to promote and assist organisations develop best practice business strategies and relationships, and is the result of our contact over the past year with many companies and organisations across Victoria, in both metropolitan and regional areas. Hence we are bringing together at the forum some of our most respected experts in the Australia China relationship.
Our Collaborative Partners include: Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development Victoria, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade, City of Melbourne and the Australian China Business Council.
Key forum presenters will include:
- Forum opening: The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Robert Doyle
- Keynote Opening Address: The Hon Martin Pakula MLC, Minister for Industry & Trade, Government of Victoria
- Pre-Luncheon Address: Peter Tesch, Commissioner-General, Shanghai World Expo 2010, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
- Keynote Luncheon Address: His Excellency Zhang Junsai, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China
- Forum Chairman: Ben Foskett, Vice President ACBC Victoria and Special Trade Envoy to North Asia, Government of Victoria
Governments at Federal, State and Local level, as well as the corporate sector will be represented on panels, and provide insights and case studies. Confirmed case studies to date include David Chuter, Futuris Automotive, Greg Gong, Denton Corker Marshall, Nigel Murphy, Earth Systems and Mayor Lisa Price, Latrobe City Council from Gippsland.
A cultural and language session will be provided by the Confucius Institute to enable participants to better understand the nuances of doing business in China. We hope that each participant will leave feeling better equipped for developing their Australia China business relations and that organisations will be better informed in implementing strategies in their constituencies.
