China Day - Discovery of Chinese Culture

The Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association at the University jointly held the Grant China Day event on the 9th of October 2008. Four programs were presented: Chinese Minority Group Fashion Show; Traditional Toys and Art-crafts; Introduction to Chinese Literature, Philosophy and History; Display and Work Shop of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. Chinese dancing, the play of traditional Chinese musical instrument Xiao and sword walk were applauded by the audience. The Deputy Consul-General Madame Wang and the Education Consul Mr. Zhu from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne attended the event.
