Economic and Business Round Table between Jiangsu Province and the State of Victoria

The Economic and Business Round Table between Jiangsu Province and the State of Victoria was held on October the 15th 2008 at Nanjing University, Jiangsu Province in China. The meeting focused on challenges faced today in the areas of water conservation and efficient water use. It is hoped that the discussion between the two parties shall identify areas for joint cooperation in the area of urban and industrial water, and that this cooperation may lead to joint projects between the University of Melbourne and Nanjing University, for the long-term benefit of both the State of Victoria and Jiangsu Province. Guests present at the meeting included the Vice Chancellor Professor Glyn David and Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Frank Larkins at the University of Melbourne, the Executive Vice-President Professor Shi Jianjun and Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Professor Zou Yajung of Nanjing University, Mr Li Chun Jiang Deputy Director        of the Economic and Trade Commission as the representative of the Jiangsu Government, Mr Charles Brent, Commissioner to Greater China for the State Government of Victoria as well as scholars and experts in business and water-related issues.
