2020 CLTAV Writing & Speaking Competition Held Online

The Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne supported the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Victoria (CLTAV) in its annual Chinese Writing and Speaking Competition on November 19 2020.

Forty-four participants from across the State competed in two groups, i.e. Chinese as Second Language (Advanced) Group and Chinese as the First Language Group. In the writing competition, the participants chose one from the four given topics and wrote an article within the given time. In the speaking competition, they were asked to give a three-minute speech based on the same topic. A number of international students participated in the competition. They wrote and talked about their study life in the Victorian schools and how they benefited from such experience.

This was the second language competition run online in 2020. The CLTAV will continue to provide online options for future language competitions.
