The Confucius Institute hosted the Dragon Boat Festival Celebration on 26th of June 2020. It was attended by students and teachers at the Institute. The participants were asked to put in some Chinese element in their outfit, use a picture with Dragon Boat Festival theme in their virtual background and “bring” a Chinese snack to the session.
At the beginning of the event, the participants learnt how to send wishes during this occasion by saying “端午安康”！They also joined an online interactive activity and competed with each other on their knowledge about the festival. In the breakout session, participants took turns doing Chinese Snack Show and Tell. The organizer also invited all to join in the Opera Exercise, in which people learnt some common gestures used in Chines operas.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne sent the best wishes to the students and their families.
