2023 LITERATURE CIRCLE #2 SONG BIE “FAREWELL” The Literature Circle #2 on June 30 focuses on a song 送别 Song Bie, Farewell in English, written by Chinese Buddhist monk Hong Yi, also known by his birth name Li Shutong 李叔同 (1880 – 1942). In the session, participants will be guided to appreciate the lyrics, in itself a great long-short-lined poem, and its association with a Chinese novel Memories of Peking: South Side Stories.
